EatDB is a fast, privacy-first nutrition tracker. We designed it so your data stays on your device by default. This policy explains what we (the developer) receive or process, what remains on your device, and your choices.

What this policy covers

This policy covers:

It does not cover any websites or services we don’t control.

Data we store or process

1) On your device (by default)

Deletion: delete the app to remove app data from your device. If you back up your device (for example, iCloud or a local computer backup), Apple may keep a copy as part of your device backup until that backup is deleted or replaced.

2) Apple Health (optional)

If you enable “Share with Apple Health,” EatDB may read and/or write specific nutrition data to the Health app with your explicit permission.

3) iCloud Sync (optional)

You can choose to keep your EatDB data in sync across your devices using iCloud (CloudKit). This feature is off by default. When enabled, EatDB may store and update the following in your iCloud account:

Where your data is stored. iCloud sync stores data in your personal iCloud account associated with your Apple ID. We do not operate a server for your app data, and we do not receive or host your synced content.

4) Diagnostics & beta testing

Information we do not collect

Your choices & controls

Children’s privacy

EatDB is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Because we don’t run a user-data backend, the main protections are the ones on your device (passcode, Face/Touch ID, and Apple’s encryption for data at rest and in backups). Keep your device updated and secured.

If you are in a region with data rights (for example, EU/EEA, UK, California), you can contact us to exercise applicable rights. In most cases we don’t have server-side data to identify you; we’ll explain what is and isn’t possible.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll post the new version at https://eatdb.app/privacy and update the effective date above.
